Get to know Gus

Well, not exactly. My real name is Russ Landry, but around here, Gus is the spirit behind everything we do. Gus represents a love for good food, Southern hospitality, hard work, and bringing people together around the table.

By day, I work as a Safety Specialist, helping protect people and build strong workplace cultures. Outside of work, you'll usually find me experimenting with recipes, smoking barbecue, mixing up sauces, and chasing that perfect balance of flavor that keeps folks coming back for another bite.

I started Gus's Sauces & Seasonings because I believe food should tell a story.

Some of my favorite memories involve family gatherings, cookouts with friends, church potlucks, and long conversations around a meal. Food has a way of slowing life down and bringing people together, and I wanted to create products that help others make those same kinds of memories.

My values are simple: faith, family, honesty, hard work, and treating people right. I believe in making products with integrity, using quality ingredients, and never putting my name on something I wouldn't proudly serve at my own table.

Many of our flavors are inspired by Southern traditions, local history, small-town culture, and the people and places that have shaped my life along the way. Every label, every recipe, and every product has a little story behind it because I believe food should have character, not just flavor.

Going into business wasn't about building a brand as much as it was about sharing something I genuinely love. Creating sauces and seasonings gives me the opportunity to combine creativity, craftsmanship, and hospitality into something people can enjoy with their families and friends.

Whether you're firing up the grill, cooking Sunday supper, tailgating with friends, or trying a new recipe in the kitchen, I'm honored to be a small part of your table.
